Bosherston, near Pembroke, South Wales

This lake is in the southwestern corner of Wales in the town of Bosherston, not far south of Pembroke.

The proximity of the Bosherston Lily Ponds to St. Govan's Head may have been what needed to link them with Excalibur. The lakes did not exist until the late 18th century, when the Cawdor family made the lakes by damming the narrow limestone valleys that the lakes now fill. Prior to this, there were only small creeks, and unlikely home for the Lady of the Lake.
